Lavender Oil Benefits

Some of the common uses for lavender include as an analgesic, anticonvulsive, antidepressant, antiphlogistic, antirheumatic, antseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, bactericide, carminative, cholagogue, cicatrisant, cordial, cytophylactic, decongestant, deodorant, and as a diuretic. The scent of Lavender is said to have a calming effect on the body and it can be used to reduce anxiety, stress and promote sleep.

Some people believe you can put lavender EO on a burn and it will help promote quicker healing and help stop any blistering or scarring. You can also use it when you are suffering from a headache – just take a drop and rub it on your temples to help bring relief.

Because lavender is a natural deterrent of mosquitoes and moths, among other insects, it can be dabbed on a ribbon and hung at the window to deter the former, or put on a cotton-wool ball and placed in the wardrobe to deter the latter.

Lavender has natural antibiotic and antiseptic qualities that make it a highly effective wash for cuts and scrapes.

The fact that lavender also smells fabulous makes it a must-have for any household.

It’s a MUST for your first aid kit. PLUS, there are no artificial colors or elements, no synthetic chemicals – nothing but what nature provided!
